Real Estate Agent's #1 Choice For Reliable Home Inspection Services With Decades Of Experience

Welcome, & Thanks for Visiting Home Check!

For most people, purchasing a house is typically the largest investment they will
make in their lifetime. Unfortunately, many people make this purchase without a clear understanding
of the condition of the house. This can lead to unforeseen expenses

and valuable time spent dealing with problems that can come up later. In the case of
buying any piece of property, knowledge really is power. Knowledge is your best defense against potential
future headaches relating to home ownership.

At Home Check, we provide our clients with the information they need to be confident through the home
closing process and beyond. Over the years, our inspections have saved our clients thousands of dollars by
providing a clear understanding of the condition of the property they were purchasing.

I have inspected over 9000 homes in my career, yet I have never inspected a
“perfect” house. Even with new construction, we sometimes find where “shortcuts”
were taken in the building of the house. Sometimes the deficiencies we find are minor. Sometimes they can
be costly and even unsafe. My promise to our clients is this:
I will inspect the property they are purchasing as if I was the purchaser.
I wouldn’t do it any other way.

Thanks for visiting.

We look forward to serving you!

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s ok to have questions… Because we have the answers

A standard home inspection is a visual examination of the structure and interior systems of a residential building, much like a physical exam that your doctor may perform on you.

However, it should be clearly understood that a house inspection is not to be confused with an appraisal, warranty evaluation, building code inspection, a guarantee of any kind, and/or an insurance policy on the condition of the property.

The purchase of a home is one of the largest single investments you will ever make. With that in mind, it is extremely important that you learn as much as you can about the condition of the property and the possible need for any major repairs before making the purchase.

A house inspection by Home Check helps minimize the possibility of unpleasant surprises, unexpected costs and post-purchase headaches.

It’s important to remember that a reputable home inspector will also point out the positive aspects of a home, as well as the maintenance that will be necessary to keep it in good shape. After the inspection, you will have a much clearer understanding of the property you are about to purchase, giving you confidence and peace of mind.

What’s more, home inspections are not just for new home buyers. For existing homeowners, an inspection may be considered in order to identify problems in the making, and to learn important preventive measures to avoid costly future repairs.

If you are planning to sell your home, you also may wish to have an inspection prior to placing your home on the market. This will give you a better understanding of conditions which may be discovered by the buyer’s inspector, and an opportunity to make repairs
that will put the house in better selling condition.

Most single-family homes take 2.5 -3 hours to complete. The type of foundation (slab vs. raised) and the condition of the property can affect the time on site for the inspection. Multi-family properties typically take 3+ hours.

During an inspection, the inspector will review the readily accessible exposed portions of the structure of the home, including the roof, attic, walls, ceilings, floors, windows, doors, and foundation, as well as the heating/air conditioning systems, interior plumbing and electrical systems for potential problems.

Keep in mind that a home inspection is not intended to point out every small problem or invisible/latent defect in a home. Most minor or cosmetic flaws, for example, should be apparent to the buyer without the aid of a professional.

We encourage clients to be at the inspection but it is not required. Further consultation via phone/ text/ email is available after the inspection is completed, if needed. We recommend reviewing the report prior to any additional consultation.

A termite inspection is a visual inspection of the readily accessible areas of a home/ building for evidence of wood-destroying insects (WDI). The inspector will visually inspect the entire interior of a home (including accessing and entering any sub-space such as basements and crawlspaces) and exterior of the property.

In areas where Drywood termites are prevalent, and in houses where there are no sub-areas, the attic may also be accessed and inspected. After the inspection has been performed, the findings are reported on the applicable/appropriate form. In Louisiana, this is referred to as the Wood Destroying Insect Report.

The average termite or pest inspection takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes for a thorough inspection, depending on the size and conditions (e.g. clutter; storage of personal items, etc.) of the home and property.

With Home Check, it is! A full home inspection includes a wood destroying insect inspection and report at no additional charge.
